Sunflower Bean share sort-of title track ‘TwentyTwo’
Their second album ‘Twentytwo in Blue’ is out next month.
Ahead of releasing their second album ’Twentytwo in Blue’ next month, Sunflower Bean have shared the sort-of title track ‘TwentyTwo’.
Channelling huge ‘Rumours’-era Fleetwood Mac vibes, and appearing to paraphrase Dylan Thomas’ poem ‘Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night’ in the process (“I do not go quietly/Into the night that calls me” Julia Cumming sings) it’s an absolute beauty of a song. Exploring the societal pressures faced by women, and the dangerous expectation that men should prove their masculinity through violence, Sunflower Bean are as incisive and on point as ever.
Sunflower Bean return to the UK next month for a tour. More details here.
