Festivals
mary in the junkyard, Aziya, Good Neighbours and more to play DIY’s stage at Sŵn Festival 2024
We’ll also be joined by Alien Chicks, Cosmorat, Fräulein, and more in Cardiff later this month.

DIY are thrilled to announce that we’ll be heading back to Cardiff to host our very own stage at Sŵn Festival 2024 - Wales’ premier festival for new music discovery.
There’ll be sets taking place in a variety of venues all over the city, but Jacob’s Basement is the place to be on Saturday 19th October, because we’ve got a frankly stacked bill of artists lined up to take to the DIY stage.
Both alumni of DIY live events (Reeperbahn Festival and our 2024 Now & Next tour respectively), mary in the junkyard and Aziya will be joining the fun in Wales, as will viral sensations Good Neighbours and live favourites Fräulein. Completing the set are Alien Chicks - whose performance comes hot on the heels of their debut EP ‘Indulging The Mobs’ - Manchester trio Nightbus, and homegrown Welsh outfit Half Happy.
Still want more? Well, we’ll be putting on an intimate trio of afternoon sessions upstairs at Jacob’s on Saturday too! At 1pm, settle down to listen to a live recording of DIY’s Before They Knew Better podcast with Antony Szmierek. Then, at 3.30pm we’ll have Ellie Bleach playing a stripped back acoustic set before, at 4.45pm, some local favourites (TBA for now!) join us for a second live performance. Capacity is limited to 20 people for each session - first come, first served with a festival wristband.
Set to take place from 17th-19th October, 2024’s Sŵn Festival will be part of the Cardiff Music City Festival - a three week long celebration of the Welsh capital’s artists, art, and artistic spaces.
Placing a considered focus on Welsh talent and Wales’ grassroots scene, Sŵn will have five stages on its opening night (at Clwb Ifor Bach, Tiny Rebel, The Moon and Fuel), before expanding its scope to include programming at Tramshed, Jacobs Antique Market, Cornerstone and Porter’s for the remaining two days.
You can find out more about Sŵn - where DIY is an official media partner - and get tickets here. Check out the full lineup for the DIY stage below.
