Tegan & Sara Aim To Finish New Album By June

Tegan and Sara hope to finish their forthcoming album by June.

In a recent interview with Alternative Press, Tegan Quin revealed that the pair hope to have their seventh album finished by June: “Our hope is to mix in May and part of April as well, so hopefully we’ll have a finished record by June.”

However, it’s unsure whether or not the release of their follow-up to 2009’s ‘Sainthood’ will follow soon after: ‘I want to say the record will be out by the end of the year. But there is a possibility that the record will actually come out in 2013. Who knows?”

It just so happens that DIY recently got to speak to Tegan too, about what’s been happening in the studio: ‘Things in the studio have been fantastic. It has been a lot of fun so far bringing these demos to life. Sara and I submitted nearly 45 songs for this record. We were able to cut it down to 14 tracks which we will be recording over the next three months with three different producers here in Los Angeles.’

‘Our intention with this record is to create a whole new sound for Tegan and Sara while still relying on the sound we built over the last 13 year years. It’s tricky, but so far, it’s working!’
