The Last Dinner Party offer up latest pop-rock romp ‘Second Best’
Their much-anticipated second album, ‘From The Pyre’, lands later this month.

The Last Dinner Party have raised the curtain on ‘Second Best’ - their Sparks-inspired new single that serves as our third taste of what to expect from upcoming sophomore LP ‘From The Pyre’ (due out on 17th October via Island).
Following in the wake of recent previews ‘This Is The Killer Speaking’ and ‘The Scythe’, ‘Second Best’ sees guitarist Emily Roberts take the conceptual reins as she reflects on a toxic cycle of infatuation and betrayal. “I wish I could go back and say to myself that I am worth more than that, and that no one needs to accept being second best,” she has shared, explaining more about the track’s provenance.
“I hope that the song captures the pain, anger and despair I felt but most importantly the defiance and satisfaction I now have in being able to immortalise this person in a song and to look back on the situation with more maturity.”
