The White Stripes take aim at Donald Trump with ‘Icky Thump’ tees
T-shirt is emblazoned with ‘Icky Thump’ lyrics that seem especially on-point today.
The White Stripes have printed new t-shirts, taking aim at Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump.
‘Icky Thump’ tees, on sale for $25, are emblazoned with lyrics from Jack and Meg White’s song of the same name, released back in 2007.
It reads:
“White Americans? What?
Nothing better to do?
Why don’t you kick yourself out?
You’re an immigrant, too?
Who’s using who?
What should we do?
Well, you can’t be a pimp
And a prostitute, too.”
Earlier this week, The White Stripes issued a statement after their ‘Seven Nation Army’ song was used in one of Trump’s promotional campaign videos. They said: “Regarding the use of ‘Seven Nation Army’ in a Donald Trump campaign video, The White Stripes would like to unequivocally state that they have nothing whatsoever to do with this video. They are disgusted by this association, and by the illegal use of their song.”
