The Wytches: “It was shreddin’!”
The band look back at their most recent visit to Sheffield, ahead of their show there this weekend for the Stand For Something Tour.
So far on the Dr. Martens Stand For Something Tour, we’ve hosted the likes of Dutch Uncles, Palma Violets, Twin Atlantic and Lonely The Brave. Now - with only two shows of the tour to go - things are taking a louder turn…
Brighton noiseniks The Wytches will be making a return to Sheffield to play at The Corporation where, after spending most of the past year writing and recording a new album, they plan on causing some chaos.
“We toured almost all of last year so we didn’t want to over do it,” the band’s Kristian Bell offers up, up just why they’ve had a fairly quiet year (by their own standards). “We have been working on an album, though, and also some other songs where it’s more of a fun thing rather than something with expectations.”
The trio are also hoping that their forthcoming show will match up to the stands of their last visit to the Steel City. “We played the Harley with Razoreater and Kagoule last autumn and it was shreddin’!”
The Wytches aren’t the only ones set to cause chaos this weekend; they’ll be joined by fellow Brightonians Demob Happy. “They rock hard,” the band’s Matt Marcantonio has said, of sharing the stage with the trio, “so it’ll be guitars at dawn. The gig’s the day after my birthday, on the 20th, no word of a lie, so expect to bring a present.”
The Wytches will play the Sheffield leg of the Dr. Martens’ Stand For Something Tour, in association with DIY on 21st November, supported by Demob Happy and Bear Chest.
