The Wytches sign to Alcopop! Records and announce new album, ‘Our Guest Can’t Be Named’

Brighton psych-rockers The Wytches are back, and have a few updates for us all.

Today, The Wytches have announced their signing to indie label Alcopop! Records, home of Keg, Loose Articles, and more. They’ve also revealed plans for a new album, ‘Our Guest Can’t Be Named’ - slated for release on 22nd September - and shared its first single, ‘Maria’.

The record will be available on vinyl as well as digitally, with a limited Dinked edition set of 500 copies coming with a glow in the dark patch and original Super 8 film cells from the ‘Maria’ video.

Speaking about the new single, frontman Kristian Bell says: “‘Maria’ was the first track we put down for the new album, but it’s actually an older song. We used to play this song live quite a lot and originally recorded it in a church in Liverpool with Bill Ryder Jones. It wasn’t really ready back then but we never became fed up with the song and its simplicity. Most of the tracks from the new album are based around the loss of identity. Lyrically this track fits in with that theme, so it felt like the song finally found its place”.

Finally, The Wytches are also heading on tour to the UK and France this autumn - check out their live dates here:
