Thumpers air new video for ‘Devotee’, featuring Jena Malone

Thumpers have unveiled the video for ‘Devotee’, a Jena Malone-featuring standout from their latest EP ‘Devotee’.

A couple of things to note, here: First is the sheer attention-to-detail former DIY indie dreamboat Marcus Pepperell has given to his stubble. Second is the ridiculous amount of fun all three seem to be having on this video shoot. And it’s not as if they’ve been given plenty of props. Pepperell sports a tiny guitar. John Hamson Jr. has a similarly tiny drum. And Jena Malone has a couple of t-shirts.

In a recent DIY interview, Thumpers spoke about their desire to break free from the happiness-first impression of debut LP ‘Galore’, with all eyes on showcasing a new side on their latest EP. “I think we’re pretty good at making up our own believe system, and for us, anti-cynicism is involved in that,” they told Joanie Eaton.
