Villagers debut new material in 6 Music Session

Conor O’Brien played a new song at the 6 Music Festival launch

Villagers have debuted the first track from their forthcoming third album in a session for BBC 6 Music.

The new track, titled ‘Courage’, was played at a launch event for this year’s 6 Music Festival in Newcastle with Lauren Laverne.

Villagers are just one of the names announced for the second annual bash, along with the likes of Interpol, Sleater-Kinney, The War On Drugs and Jon Hopkins. The event is to take place across the weekend of 20th to 22nd February, and tickets are on sale now. The band’s third album is set to be released later this year.

Last year’s 6 Music Festival took place in at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse and was headlined by The National and Damon Albarn. Read the DIY review of the event here.
