Gettin' rappy with it
Will Smith releases first new music for ten years
He makes a guest appearance with Colombian band Bomba Estéreo, on ‘Fiesta’.
These days, Will Smith is best known as a Hollywood mega-star. Now, after a decade away from music, he’s thrown back to his Fresh Prince rap days with a somewhat unlikely comeback. He’s guested on a song by the Colombian band Bomba Estéreo.
Will Smith raps in Spanish and English on the new remix of ‘Fiesta’. It’s his first musical endeavour since his 2005 release, ‘Lost and Found,’ and Smith apparently stumbled upon the group when he was traveling in Columbia. He later approached Bomba Estéreo, asking if he could work with them. “When I was told that Will Smith wanted to collaborate on a remix with Bomba, I couldn’t believe it,” Simon Mejia of the band said in a statement. “This opportunity to work with Will was beyond anything we have dreamed of … It’s just magic.”
