Metronomy - Radio Ladio

A showcase of the syncopated electro-pop that Metronomy have so brilliantly perfected.

2008 was without a doubt a monumental year for Metronomy. Not only did they release arguably one of the best albums of the year and silence critics, but they’ve managed to garner a fan base to be envious of as well as performing some absolutely top notch sets to loving audiences worldwide.

One of the many highlights of their second album, ‘Nights Out’ is certainly ‘Radio Ladio’, a showcase of the syncopated electro-pop that Metronomy have so brilliantly perfected. This electro masterpiece, which dabbles with a touch of funk, still sounds as fresh as ever. Indeed, one of Metronomy’s finest skills is most certainly their ever present sense of innovation and ability to sound new however old their songs may be. ‘Radio Ladio’ exudes much romance, something that main man Joseph Mount reflects in his repetitive lyrics based around the theme of “she’s taken my breath away” before finally launching into that chant that has delighted many and brought together thousands screaming the sequence ‘R.A.D.I.O. L.A.D.I.O.’ in time with each other at their performances.

Metronomy may have lost a member in bassist Gabriel Stenning to Your Twenties but they are not going to be stopped easily, that is indisputable. The omens are looking good for the new album.
