Royksopp - The Girl And The Robot
4 StarsWe’ve all had a boyfriend that loves their job more than they love us.
We’ve all been there, Robyn. We’ve all had a boyfriend that loves their job more than they love us. On the other side of the coin, here at DIY towers, obviously, work perpetually comes first.
The latest single from Royksopp features the haunting, obsessive vocals of Swedish superstar Robyn, telling tales of an absent, workaholic lover. The lyrics lie a little bit too close to home and left us feeling a bit… stalked. Nevertheless, the insane electro backdrop and flawless marriage of melody and technology left us gagging for more.
‘The Girl And The Robot’ has the potential to take the world by storm. Mixing god-like masters of electronica with a fellow Scandi songstress was probably never going to be a bad combination, but this one really sets the bar. A probable summer clubland anthem.
