Robyn Sherwell walks ‘Tightropes’ with her daring new single
Intimate ballad is taken from the ‘Islander’ EP.
London newcomer Robyn Sherwell is evidently someone who specialises in quiet pause. Self-reflection locked in with a neat bow, her new ‘Tightropes’ track is the most intimate, straight-down-the-line this hyped-up artist’s sounded to date.
Previous EP ‘Love Somebody’ is being followed up with new release ‘Islander’. ‘Tightropes’ leads the way, backing up early synth pop efforts with a more direct take on pop, dealing exclusively in honesty. It’s a gorgeous introduction for anyone new to Sherwell’s work, a remarkable bolt-out-of-the-blue for anyone who’s followed her every move.
DIY is premiering ‘Tightropes’ below. Check out the ‘Islander’ tracklist - it’s out 30th Marchvia Birdland Records. Sherwell headlines London’s The Lexington on the same night.
