Wedding bells: Bat For Lashes confirms ‘The Bride’ album, shares ‘In God’s House’

New full-length comes out this July.

Bat For Lashes aka Natasha Khan has announced her new album, ‘The Bride’.

It didn’t take a detective to work out the clues a couple of weeks back, when Khan shared a wedding bells-ringing ‘I Do’ alongside the message “save the date”. Turns out, 1st July marks the day her fourth album comes out.

Following 2012’s ‘The Haunted Man’, the LP is being led by ‘In God’s House’, streaming below. The track finds Khan working with some of the most daring, tense electronics of her career, like if The Knife decided to write an out-and-out ballad.

‘The Bride’ was produced by Khan alongside Ben Christophers, Dan Carey, Simon Felice and Head. A concept LP of sorts, it “follows the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding. The Bride flees the scene to take the honeymoon trip alone, resulting in a dark meditation on love, loss, grief, and celebration.”

This Spring, Bat For Lashes performs ‘The Bride’ in full (fans are being asked to turn up in wedding attire) at the following churches:

20 Los Angeles, CA, First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood

13 Manchester, UK, Manchester Cathedral
14 Brighton, UK, St. Georges
16 London, Union Chapel

01 Brooklyn, NY, Saint Ann’s

An accompanying story will be released alongside ‘The Bride’. You can read the first chapter below.
