Bat For Lashes shares new track ‘Sunday Love’

A darkly chiming prospect, the song appears on her upcoming album ‘The Bride’

Bat for Lashes has shared ‘Sunday Love’ - an absolute beaut of a track taken from her upcoming new album ‘The Bride’. It follows previous glimpses ‘In Gods House’ and ‘I Do’.

“Even though I’m falling apart, I want Sunday Love, in my heart,” echoes Natasha Khan; the track bearing all of the usual signs that mark ‘The Bride’ out as a bit of a special record. Blending unrelentingly chipper lightness and chiming wedding bells with an obscure, slightly menacing darkness, ‘Sunday Love’ is magical listening.

There’s also a video to match, which shows the album’s bride rampaging around the Californian desert in a bit of a panic, and searching for her missing husband. It’s very dramatic stuff.

As you may have gathered by now from all her ‘save the date’ gubbins and church-nodding song titles, Bat For Lashes’ ‘The Bride’ is a concept LP of sorts, it “follows the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding. The Bride flees the scene to take the honeymoon trip alone, resulting in a dark meditation on love, loss, grief, and celebration.”

It’s out on 1st July. Watch the video for ‘Sunday Love’ below.
