Foals aren’t done yet: “There’s more to come after Reading”
Speaking to DIY, the band’s guitarist Jimmy Smith admitted this “break” they’re planning may not be emerging any time soon.

Back in February, Foals prompted despair by stating that they “need to take a break” before writing the follow-up to ‘What Went Down’. Speaking to DIY in a recent chat, the band’s guitarist Jimmy Smith revealed that said break might be a little way off yet.
“Yeah, it’s been a great year,” admitted Jimmy when asked how it felt to be topping Reading & Leeds at the end of a whirlwind twelve months, before dropping the bombshell - “There is more to come after Reading as well.”
More to come, eh? Whether that’s a new album, more touring or potentially another huge show to rival their Wembley Arena smasher is unclear, but it’s certainly the opposite of a break. Thank god. No matter what it is, one thing’s for sure - Foals at Reading and Leeds is going to be one of the defining moments of the summer.
The full chat with Jimmy will be available in DIY’s Festival Guide 2016 - more on that ‘very soon indeed’. In the meantime, catch up with our September 2015 issue’s Foals cover feature online, and watch the Oxford group’s video for latest album title-track ‘What Went Down’ below.
Foals will play Open’er (29th June - 2nd July) and Bilbao BBK Live (7th - 9th July), where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
