Bombay Bicycle Club postpone European tour due to coronavirus concerns
“The majority of cities we were scheduled to play have put bans in place”
Bombay Bicycle Club have announced they’re postponing their upcoming European tour due to coronavirus concerns.
“We are devastated to have to reschedule our upcoming European tour due to current events,” the band wrote on Twitter.
“Unfortunately the majority of cities we were scheduled to play have put bans in place that make doing the tour impossible. We were very much looking forward to the shows and we are working on rescheduling them for later in the year.”
The tour, behind the band’s recent comeback album ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’, was scheduled to begin on Sunday (15th March) in Munich, and run until the 25th in Hamburg.
The band were recently announced as the final headliner for 2020’s All Points East festival in London’s Victoria Park, playing on Friday 22nd May alongside Loyle Carner, Everything Everything, Nadine Shah, Lianne La Havas, Nilüfer Yanya, The Orielles and Gengahr.
In a four-star review of ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’, we said: “A very subtle progression from what has come before, it remains to be seen whether 2020-era BBC will capture the hearts and minds of a new generation. But for those who’ve held on in hope of their return, the rewards are fruitful.
“In the spirit of the album’s title, there is hopefulness in despair, a peace in accepting the unknown. The same blues of ten years ago are still very much in evidence, but Bombay Bicycle Club remain a band who are more than capable of shaking them loose.”
