Listen: Damon Albarn Covers Terry Jacks, Plays ‘Lonely Press Play’ On Radio 2
The Blur frontman appeared on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show.

Last Saturday (15th February), Damon Albarn took the ‘Saturday Session’ spot on Dermot O’Leary’s Radio 2 show. As well as discussing ‘Everyday Robots’ - his new solo album, out April via Parlophone - he dropped in to play two tracks.
One, ‘Lonely Press Play’, is a song that’s sort of out there without having a proper studio recording. The other was a cover of Terry Jacks’ ‘Seasons In The Sun’.
In an interview on the same show, Damon talked about going to North Korea as a tourist in October (‘You can’t fly from Seoul…’) and his first solo record (‘The reason why I did it - me and Richard [Russell] decided to continue our partnership. First we thought we’d start a new band; we started coming up with stupid names. Then one day he came in and said ‘What I’d like to do is produce you.’ So it’s his fault.’)
Listen in full to the interview via BBC iPlayer. Here’s both tracks from the session, below.
