Listen: Royal Blood Share ‘Out Of The Black’ Track
New Brighton duo latch onto a QOTSA-style shock to the system.

Even though it’s becoming a go-to reaction to think ‘gosh, there’s just two of them?’ when hearing a thrashing duo for the first time, this takes the biscuit. Royal Blood are a Brighton two-piece consisting of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher. They’re loud, unashamedly so, bursting forth with new single ‘Out Of The Black’ that sounds as if at least half a dozen explosive guitarists are behind the furore.
The pair have signed up to Black Mammoth Records for the release of their debut 7’, out 11th November. Running riot with the kind of punchy, gigantic embrace that Queens of the Stone Age wouldn’t be ashamed of putting their name to, it’s a colossal first effort.
