Featuring Pale Waves and the Class of 2018!

Well then! In what seems like no time at all, we’ve come to the end of 2017. Sad in some ways, of course, but just before we tuck into our Christmas turkey, we’ve been turning our attention to next year, thinking about the band we think are gonna be blimmin’ massive in 2018. Luckily for you, dear readers, after our little brainstorm we decided to profile them all in our new magazine. We present to you: the DIY Class Of 2018!

Fronting this year’s Class Of is Pale Waves, the band we’ve been pretty much besotted with every since they emerged with debut single ‘There’s A Honey’ back in February. ““With my writing, it’s only getting more and more personal, and I feel like a lot of stuff that I go through, a lot of [people], especially young girls, will connect with,” vocalist Heather Baron-Gracie tells us. “If I can give people something that makes them feel better, I will always keep doing that.”

They’re joined in our tips of 2018 by Sigrid, the Norwegian soon-to-be-superstar who’s ridden the wave of debut single ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ all the way through a huge festival season and with newie ‘Strangers’ just as propulsive and addictive, her 2018 is going to be simply huge.

With a host of brilliantly exciting, scrappy guitar bands from the nation’s capital - Shame, King Nun, Sorry, Goat Girl - joining them in this year’s Class Of, it’s looking like an extremely exciting year for new music.

With the soulful, sultry tones of Nilüfer Yanya, the cutting, NSFW pop of Sälen, the crooning of Matt Maltese and beyond, our Class Of is absolutely packed with the acts set to make real steps forward in 2018: they’re our All Stars.
