Basement drop final ‘WIRED’ teaser ‘Head Alight’
The alt-rock statesmen are headlining this year’s Outbreak Festival.

Ahead of the arrival of their next LP - and first in eight years! - Basement have shared one final preview of what to expect in the form of new single ‘Head Alight’.
It follows recent cuts ‘Broken By Design’, ‘The Way I Feel’, and the record’s title track - ‘WIRED’ - to be the fourth song lifted from the album, and sees the band lean into heady, hooky territory that vocalist Andrew Fisher has described as “ethereal”.
Noting that the single originally “started out as a love song”, Fisher explains that his bandmates “saw it less in a romantic way” and more as “a more universal look at the idea of someone’s soul or essence being so powerful and beautiful you can’t look away. This really excited me because it allowed me to get out of my head and focus on something way more abstract and therefore, hopefully more expansive.”
Recorded with producer John Congleton (Death Cab for Cutie, Wallows, Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten), ‘WIRED’ will be Basement’s first album since 2018’s ‘Beside Myself’, and has also seen them reunite with their original label, Run For Cover Records.
What’s more, the band are making a mighty return to the live circuit this summer too, with performances booked in for both the Manchester and London editions of Outbreak Festival.
