News Big Boi And Andre 3000 Reportedly Working On Solo Albums
Longtime producer Mr. DJ says Andre 3000 will have something out this year.
Alongside over 40 festival dates across the summer, the rumour mill's quite naturally been in overdrive about a potential new album from Outkast - their first in eight years, since 2006's 'Idlewild'. Initial rumours were started and subsequently locked shut by ex-manager Queen Latifah. She initially claimed that they were working in the studio together, but she's since backtracked on those statements.
The latest gossip comes from Mr. DJ, who claims that Big Boi and Andre 3000 are working on separate solo projects at Atlanta base Stankonia Studios. Big Boi's solo projects are now a regularity, while Andre 3000 - who's said to be releasing something this year - is likely to emerge with a record after the tour.
'I get the feeling that the energy and camaraderie from the tour will bring everything full circle,” Mr. DJ said to Revolt. 'We may make it back in for an album following that.'
As FACT notes, Revolt is the publication that first confirmed the Outkast reunion.
