Daft Punk Unchained’ documentary will feature Kanye West, Pharrell, Nile Rodgers, and more

The new film by BBC Worldwide France airs on French channel Canal+ on 24th June.

New details of the forthcoming documentary about Daft Punk have been announced, including the title, ‘Daft Punk Unchained’.

Last year, BBC Worldwide France confirmed that the film was in the pipeline, with the first screening taking place 24th June on French television network Canal+. A press release for the documentary states:

“Daft Punk Unchained is the first film about the pop culture phenomenon that is Daft Punk, the duo with 12 million albums sold worldwide and seven Grammy Awards. Throughout their career Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo has always resisted compromise and the established codes of show business. They have remained determined to maintain control of every link in the chain of their creative process. In the era of globalisation and social networks, they rarely speak in public and neither do they show their faces on TV.”

Directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre, and co-written with Marina Rozenman, ‘Daft Punk Unchained’ will feature a list of high profile guests and collaborators who have worked with the duo. Kanye West, Pharrell, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Michel Gondry, Paul Williams, Todd Edwards, and many, many more are set to take part.

A theme song has been also created by Joseph Trapanese, who collaborated with Daft Punk for the ‘Tron: Legacy’ soundtrack.
