Breaking up
Funeral For A Friend announce split
“It’s the natural end,” say the band, who head out on a farewell tour next year.
After almost fifteen years, and seven albums, Welsh band Funeral For A Friend are splitting up. They’re marking their break-up with a farewell tour, Last Chance To Dance, in 2016. Tickets go on sale this Friday (18th September). The band will perform two nights in each city performing their albums ‘Hours’ and ‘Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation’ on respective nights.
“It’s the natural end,” said the band’s Matthew Davies-Kreye. “We’ve done everything we set out to do and way more than I could ever have hoped so I’m not upset that it’s run its course.” Looking ahead to Funeral For A Friend’s final hurrah, which will be centered around two albums, he said “how do you celebrate a huge part of your life? You play some shows! For me it seemed obvious to go out with both ‘Hours’ and ‘Casually Dressed..’ I feel that both those records distill what Funeral is to a whole load of people more definitively than just piecing together a set from all the records we’ve made.”
