Listen: Fryars Streams ‘The Power’ Track Ahead Of New EP

Ben Garrett’s new track could be his biggest, most starry-eyed to date.

Ben Garrett aka Fryars has offered a sprawled out, arms-aloft track from his forthcoming EP ‘Radio PWR’ (out 21st October via 679 Recordings).

It’s weird to think that Fryars is still 22. When he first emerged with that capital Y wedged in the middle of his name, he hinted at grandly-intentioned pop, but not of this kind.

The whole ‘maybe you’re a rockstar, hey’/ ‘maybe I’m a fool for you, hey’ chorus of ‘The Power’ sounds like a glorious swansong. But it’s the first in a long line of starry eyed singles, in turn previewing a debut full-length due out in 2014. A closing line of ‘all I wanted was an IRL’ is pretty clever, too. This guy’s got it all.
