MGMT cover Alan Vega’s ‘Goodbye Darling’

Listen to the group’s new tribute, following the Suicide singer’s death.

Following the passing of Alan Vega, MGMT have recorded a tribute to the frontman of New York punks Suicide.

Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser have shared a version of ‘Goodbye Darling’, originally taken from the musician’s 1983 album ‘Saturn Strip’.

Posted on Soundcloud, MGMT say the cover was made “in loving memory”. Listen below.

Late last year, MGMT gave hints that they’d been working on new material. On Christmas Day, they told fans “2016 is the year MGMT re-dominates your mind hole.”
