Mumford & Sons stay top of Official Albums Chart

Mumford & Sons have scored a second week at the top of the Official Albums Chart.

‘Wilder Mind’ is the first album this year to spend two consecutive weeks at Number 1 this year, outselling Sam Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ (which finished at Number 2) by more than 2:1, according to the Official Charts Company.

Last week also saw Hozier’s self-titled debut album climb three places to Number 3, and Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ rising to 4. The top five albums is completed by Paul Simon’s ‘The Ultimate Collection’, a former chart-topping release.

Elsewhere, the highest new entry was Eric Clapton’s ‘Forever Man’ at 8, while Tove Lo land at number 17 with debut album ‘Queen Of The Clouds’. Leonard Cohen’s ‘Can’t Forget - A Souvenir Of The Grand’ (18) and Roisin Murphy’s ‘Hairless Toys’ also enter the top twenty.
