Röyksopp preview last album with ‘You Know I Have To Go (feat. Jamie McDermott)

Norwegian duo’s ‘The Inevitable End’ will be their last release in album format.

Norwegian duo Röyksopp are edging towards their last ever album, ‘The Inevitable End’, by streaming ‘You Know I Have To Go’ feat. Jamie McDermott from The Irrepresibles.

This is the second track to lifted from the duo’s final LP. It’s a sparse, dreamy piece that remarks on getting swept away by love - the track’s streaming on theinevitableend.com alongside lyrics.

‘You Know I Have To Go’ links up with an edit of ‘ Monument’, Röyksopp’s collaboration with Robyn that initially appeared on the ‘Do It Again’ LP from earlier this year.

Speaking about ‘The Inevitable End’, Röyksopp said this would be their last album, but that they wouldn’t be going away for good. “We feel like this is a goodbye to the traditional album format. In our consecutive run of albums, we have been able to say what we want to say and do what we want to do with the LP. We’re not going to stop making music, but the album format as such, this is the last thing from us.”

Update: Another track from the record has emerged - ‘Sordid Affair’. Again, this one’s heart lies in gloomier territory, but it’s another stark and beautiful cut from the record.
