serpentwithfeet announces album rework ‘GRIP SEQUEL’
The follow-up project to his 2024 LP ‘GRIP’ will land next month.

R&B boundary-pusher serpentwithfeet has revealed that he’s set to release ‘GRIP SEQUEL’ - a second part to his acclaimed 2024 album ‘GRIP’ - on 28th February via Secretly Canadian.
Due to feature six new tracks, as well as re-imagined versions of three songs from ‘GRIP’ (‘Lucky Me’, ‘Spades’, and ‘Damn Gloves’), the project has been introduced with ‘WRITHING IN THE WIND’: a bittersweet, romantic cut that serpent has described as “the sound of a lover begging”. Continuing, he explains: “[The narrator] knows he messed up but desperately wants a second chance.”
Sharing more about his decision to make a follow-up to ‘GRIP’ - itself a tender exploration of queerness, Black culture, community and identity - serpent has commented: “I had more so say. I had more questions about intimacy and this was a fun way to explore.”
