Sinkane previews new album with ‘How We Be’
Ahmed Gallab’s new LP is out this September - hear a funky taste now.
Ahmed Gallab was last found cooing and crooning his way into hyperspace, with the hot-and-heated ‘Hold Tight’. Taken from his forthcoming second solo record, ‘Mean Love’ (out this September on City Slang), plush organs and windswept vocals came back with sax in a concoction unlike anything the New Yorker had ever put his name to.
‘How We Be’ doesn’t fall back on routine, but it does see Gallab giving a brief look back to earlier material. Dressed up with a funk edge, it’s a sweet, synth-spliced reminder that this guy can do pretty much anything he wants while pulling it off.
This weekend, Sinkane forms part of the supergroup ‘Atomic Bomb: Who Is William Onyeabor?’, who open the Obelisk Arena at Latitude Festival, Saturday 19th July.

‘Hold Tight’ is out 1st September via City Slang. Pre-order.
