The Knife Unveil First Handful Of Live Dates
The Swedish duo have confirmed their first set of shows since last appearing in support of their 2006 album ‘Silent Shout’.
It’d be fair to say that we weren’t really expecting The Knife to announce their comeback at the tail end of last year. In fact, we’re still a little surprised that they’ve been so forthcoming with information regarding their newest project, but, boy, are we excited.
Having released their last album proper all the way back in 2006, the Swedish duo had been fairly quiet on all fronts. In fact, it was only in 2010 that they emerged from their creative safe houses to give us their opera ‘Tomorrow, In A Year’, before disappearing again for what seemed like the foreseeable future.
Yet, halfway through last December, almost seven years since their last full musical output, they gave everyone quite a big surprise. Preparing us for what was to come, they revealed the news of their return through a rather confusing video trailer; as it turns out the pair are set to fill our ears once more with their new record ‘Shaking The Habitual’ on 8th April.
And just when we thought things were too good to be true, they’ve now gone and announced a handful of live shows. Granted, they’re so far only scheduled to play in Copenhagen, Denmark but this surely marks the start of some serious touring plans.
The Knife will be playing on the 12th and 13th May at Copenhagen’s Vega.
We’ll keep you updated on any other dates as we have them, but in the meantime, remind yourself of their mysterious trailer below.
