The Prodigy, Metallica, Black Sabbath Set To Headline Download 2012
It’s a trio of huge names for the rock festival next year at Donington.

The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath are to headline the Download 2012 festival.
Electro rock veterens The Prodigy play the festival’s opening night on 8th June, while a freshly reformed Black Sabbath close the event on the 10th.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said of their headline slot: ‘We are beyond psyched and feel privileged to come back once again to soak up the energy and vibe of the most legendary of festival sites.’
Black Sabbath, meanwhile, are to play their only UK festival gig at Download. The reformed lineup - Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward - are also set to record a new album with producer Rick Rubin, slated for release next year.
The Prodigy have revealed they are to debut new material at the Donington Park festival, taken from their as-yet-untitled new record out in 2012.
Tickets for the festival go on sale tomorrow (Friday 18th November) at 9am.
