Warpaint’s drummer Stella Mozgawa has given an update on album number three. “We’re working pretty consistently and with focus to finish it,” she told us, speaking to DIY’s Emma Snook.

“Things are a little more dancey perhaps,” she hinted of the album’s new sonic direction, “a little higher on the BPM scale perhaps.” She added that things still remain very much in the early experimentation stages. “That’s just the stuff that I think we are attracted to right now,” Mozgawa said, “but who knows what’s going to come out?”

Speaking to DIY previously, the band’s Jenny Lee Lindberg told us “we’re working on it [the new album ] now. Next year, it’s definitely going to come out next year.” She added that Warpaint have been continuing to approach writing in a similar jam-based way to their 2015 demoes ‘No Way Out’ and ‘I’ll Start Believing’. “That’s our plan for the third record,” she told us, “to just go in there and have fun, and not get too crazy. We’re going to have a good time.”
