Vampire Weekend’s Chris Baio announces solo album
The bassist’s debut will be out ‘this summer’.
Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio - just Baio when it comes to his solo endeavours - has announced he’s to release a debut album.
The record will be out “this summer” according to new label Glassnote, who describe the full-length follow-up to his string of EPs as where “Bowie and Ferry-influenced pop songs and dumbsmart arena techno comfortably coexist”.
There are no further details of the record announced, though there is mention of a “world tour”.
“I’m beyond thrilled to be releasing music on such a world-class label,” he says of his new home. “I’ve been a fan of Glassnote and its artists for years.”
