Watch Former Wild Beasts frontman Hayden Thorpe returns with debut solo track ‘Diviner’
The tender offering comes along with a gorgeous new video.
Last week, former Wild Beasts frontman Hayden Thorpe teased a new solo project, around something called Diviner.
Turns out ‘Diviner’ is a song, and it’s out now with its own beautiful video, which sees Hayden playing a luminous piano in a forest after dark.
It’s not clear yet whether ‘Diviner’ is the first preview of a bigger project, but, a gorgeous, piano-led ditty, it’s plenty enough to get us started.
“Diviner became the first song and the divining rod for what was going to be next,” Hayden says of the song.
“There are, if we can wait for them, rare days of alignment. Diviner was written on such a day, my birthday of all days. The curtains were drawn for a while, I went inside. To say I’m delighted to see daylight would be an understatement.”
View the artwork (which has got us at DIY HQ slightly hot under the collar) and watch the video for ‘Diviner’ below.
