So, when it comes to new music, the job of the critic is generally to criticise. But criticism is exceptionally difficult to come up with when it comes to the sensation that is La Roux. It’s been a long time since an A&R stir of such proportions has been deserved but this delightful duo has had us dancing around our desks for days.
With an uptempo, upbeat nature, ‘Bulletproof’ almost hints at a poppier, livelier, La Roux. Scorching vocals, flawlessly rhythmic hooks and a timeless chorus make for a stunner of a summer song. If you like ‘In For The Kill’, you’ll love the latest single. It’s got lashings of style and softer, easier to listen to vocals. Don’t worry though, the yazoo is still there.
Cashing in on the female-led, electro trend, this little lady seems to be set for big things. Elly Jackson has more talent than you could shake a stick at, and every single reveals a little bit more.
