Lucy Rose is just one of those people you wish you were friends with. She seems like a lovely person. Almost as lovely as the wondrous noise that she emits.
Following on from the much-praised ‘Middle Of The Bed’ is her new single, ‘Scar’. Lucy’s delicately beautiful voice leads a very pretty and decidedly girly track on a floaty little 4.08 minute journey. Heading down a similar folky-pop route, the song is reminiscent of early-Marling, but slightly less intense. Being bezzie mates with the brilliant Bombay Bicycle Club (Rose is the unofficial fifth member) is handy, with great backing vocals provided by a certain Mr Jack Steadman.
The Warwickshire-raised London dweller layers vox, guitar and strings perfectly. Lyrically sweet, the wistful track is dreamy and extremely well put together, making ‘Scar’ a very promising second single from lovely Lucy.
