Hear the latest track from Joanna Gruesome’s Alanna McArdle.
Alanna McArdle has been sharing songs under the name Ides for a couple of years now. Her last track up to now was ‘Two Car Garage’, released on Christmas Eve with the promise of being an anti-anthem to festive cheer.
New song ‘Machine’ is all about the deft touches, with sunken chords slithering along in the background, McArdle’s vocals clear but somehow distant. Echoing to the point of collapse, it’s a song that links Ides’ work to the similarly, eerily beautiful Grouper. Listen below. It’s a free download.
