Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Savages & More: Mercury Prize Nominees Revealed

The nominations for this year’s Barclaycard Mercury Prize 2013 have been revealed.

The likes of Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Savages, Disclosure and David Bowie have all been nominated for 2013’s accolade. The shortlist contains two Laura’s (Mvula and Marling), plus three acts representing Domino Records.

The winner of the prize will be announced on the 30th October, at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards Show, taking place at the Roundhouse in Camden, London.

And the nominees are:

Arctic Monkeys ‘AM’
David Bowie ‘The Next Day’
Disclosure ‘Settle’
Foals ‘Holy Fire’
Jake Bugg ‘Jake Bugg’
James Blake ‘Overgrown’
Jon Hopkins ‘Immunity’
Laura Marling ‘Once I Was An Eagle’
Laura Mvula ‘Sing to the Moon’
Rudimental ‘Home’
Savages ‘Silence Yourself’
Villagers ‘Awayland’

Lauren Laverne revealed the shortlist at the launch party, which took place today (11th September) at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden. Last year’s winners were Alt-J for their debut album, ‘An Awesome Wave’.
