Eyes on the prize
Hear The Streets’ Mike Skinner remix Kate Tempest
Mercury Prize nominee’s ‘Circles’ is given the Skinner treatment.

It’s a meeting of minds that’s been a long time coming - The Streets’ Mike Skinner and the Mercury Prize-nominated Kate Tempest. Both made records in tiny South London rooms, both speak about everyday life in cutting detail on top of skitterish, fidgety beats and both picked up the plaudits in no time at all.
Tempest is second favourite to win the prize as things stand (she’s currently behind FKA twigs according to the bookies). Today, Mike Skinner has put together a remix of his own for ‘Circles’, a track taken from Tempest’s ‘Everybody Down’ debut.
The track is getting a new single release on 20th October and it’s set to land alongside a remix from Mica Levi of Micahu and the Shapes.
