Hozier continues UK Singles Chart climb, George Ezra in battle for Albums Chart Number One slot
‘Take Me To Church’ continues its slow ascent towards the top.
Hozier looks set to continue his slow burning ascent of the UK Singles Chart this week, with ‘Take Me To Church’ climbing to a new high point of Number 3 in the midweeks.
The track, originally hitting the Top 40 17 weeks ago, hit its previous high of 5 last weekend, but shows no signs of sliding back down just yet according to the Official Charts Company.
Mark Ronson looks set to retain the Number One for a fifth week with ‘Uptown Funk’, the track sitting 25,000 sales clear of its nearest challenger, Philip George’s ‘Wish You Were Mine’. Elsewhere, Sia’s ‘Elastic Heart’ sits at Number 14, while BRITs Critic’s Choice winner James Bay has two entries - ‘Hold The River’ climbing to 30, with new track ‘Scars’ entering at 33.
In the UK Album Chart midweeks, Ed Sheeran is on track to retain the Number One slot for the 13th week, but George Ezra is challenging hard, sitting just 600 copies behind at Number Two. Elsewhere, Panda Bear currently is sitting just inside the Top 40 at 39 with new album ‘Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper’.
