Listen: Sufjan Stevens Reveals ‘Take Me’ Demo

US Songwriter finds old demo on hard-drive, but doesn’t want you to expect much…

Sufjan Stevens

has shared some unheard music with the world in the form of his song ‘Take Me’.

The track, which is just a demo apparently, was posted on the singer’s Tumblr yesterday.

Commenting on the unheard song, Stevens rendered it a ‘sloppy lo-fi demo I found on an old hard drive. It don’t go nowhere so don’t expect nothing. Love don’t go nowhere so don’t expect nothing. Quadruple negative, yo. Stay Positive.’

The track is one of Stevens’ more ambient works, with the track being lead by a series of floating synths and crackling beats. There’s probably no need to assume this as anything but a one-off, but it’s still a nice little addition to an already wealthy collection of great songs.
