Listen: Young Fathers Stream ‘GET UP’ Single
Edinburgh hip-hop trio bounce off the walls in this alternative party anthem.

Abrasive hip-hop specialists Young Fathers have shared a new track from their ‘DEAD’ record, out 3rd February on Big Dada / Anticon.
‘GET UP’ is a concise, melodic skewing of the Edinburgh group’s traditionally intense style, with random phrases - ‘Pushy dealer hits the meter’ / ‘Have a dirty weekend’ - being picked out of thin air for lyrics, a little like David Byrne’s technique for Talking Heads’ ‘Remain In Light’ in tying together separated sentences instead of penning couplets.
The single itself is out in 27th January. Pre-order ‘DEAD’ and listen to ‘GET UP’ below.
