Pure gold
Watch Sundara Karma cover Bruno Mars for Radio 1
They brought some ‘24K Magic’ to the Live Lounge.
Just a few days after releasing their debut album ‘Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect’, Sundara Karma joined BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge to play a golden set.
They powered through a version of ‘Flame’ before taking on what seems like a pretty seismic challenge: taking on Bruno Mars’ banger ’24K Magic’. Could they pull it off? Of course they could!
Instead of trying to go full-on funk (even though it would have been amazing to see Oscar and co. strutting their stuff), the band decided to make the track their own, by turning it into a brooding yet spellbinding indie-rock slow-burner. Now that’s what you call magic.
Watch them play ‘24K Magic’ below and see them chatting to Huw Stephens about their debut LP here.
