Sufjan Stevens shares title-track from ‘Carrie & Lowell’
Gorgeous track is taken from an LP out this month.
Ahead of its 30th March release, Sufjan Stevens is streaming ‘Carrie & Lowell’’s title-track.
A mixture of the simple, bare-bones approach that defines the LP, and gentle synth twists barely visible across the record, it’s one of Sufjan’s more abstract cuts. The track debuted on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC 6 Music show, and it’s available to stream here from the 33 minute mark.
The new song links up with ‘Should Have Known Better’ and ‘No Shade in the Shadow of the Cross’ in previewing the album.
Sufjan Stevens plays his only UK festival appearance at End of the Road (4th-6th September).
