Sufjan Stevens is streaming new album ‘The Greatest Gift’
The collection is out on Friday through Asthmatic Kitty.
This Friday (24th November), Sufjan Stevens is releasing ‘The Greatest Gift’ via Asthmatic Kitty. It’s a mixtape of ‘Carrie & Lowell’ off-cuts, demos, and other unheard gems from the record.
In the lead up to the record’s release, he’s shared two tracks: ‘Wallowa Lake Monster’, which recalled the murky mythology of a lonely Leviathan, and an “iPhone demo” of album track ‘John My Beloved’. With the album’s release imminent, the whole collection is now being aired via NPR.
Sufjan has also recently released a ‘Carrie & Lowell’ live album, recorded at his November 2015 show at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in South Carolina and released to celebrate his stepdad Lowell’s birthday.
