Sufjan Stevens to release his ballet score ‘The Decalogue’ for the first time

The first track from the release, ‘III’ is available to listen to now.

Sufjan Stevens is to release his score to Justin Peck’s ballet ‘The Decalogue’ for the first time.

Performed by the pianist Timo Andres, the recording is the first time the score has been made available to the public. It was premiered during the New York City Ballet’s 2017 season.

Sufjan has scored a number of Justin Peck’s ballets since 2012’s ‘Year Of The Rabbit’, and this year collaborated with him for ‘Principia’.

His last solo studio LP was the acclaimed ‘Carrie And Lowell’, released in 2015. Earlier this year he shared two new songs ‘Love Yourself’ and ‘With My Whole Heart’ for Pride Month.

The tracks for ‘The Decalogue’ are listed simply in numerical order as Roman numerals. You can hear the first to be released, ‘III’, below, as well as find a trailer for the album.
