Launched earlier this week, photographer Pooneh Ghana and her agent Meesh Bryant have unveiled a new project to help raise money with a collection of limited edition t-shirts designed by Pooneh and the artists themselves.

“Pooneh reached out to a few bands/dear friends who she has worked closely with over the years and sent them each a folder of photographs they’ve shot together to play around with and ultimately, use one to create a shirt design,” a statement explains. “What has resulted is quite a uniquely personal and fun collaboration between friends who work in the music world and have all been hit majorly during these times, but also want to find a way to do what they can to help others and create something special. All of these designs are available to buy from 1st June 2020 for a two month period here - https://poonehghana.terriblemerch.com.”

“Initially, the reason I organized this project was in response to Coronavirus,” Pooneh continues, “but in light of the murder of George Floyd, yet another innocent black male murdered by a policeman/racist, and the overwhelming lack of support for POC who experience this type of violence every day of their lives, we’ve decided to expand the scope of this fundraiser to cover a wider range of causes and get more charities involved, including the Black Visions Collective, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and Black Lives Matter. Charities are listed in the shop by each shirt, chosen by the artists.”

The lineup includes, The Aubreys, The Big Moon, Broncho, Cage The Elephant, Courtney Barnett, DIIV, Faux Real, Glass Animals, The Growlers (with Lizzie Nanut), our cover shoot with Idles, Madame Gandhi, Pond, Post Animal, Rayland Baxter, Sunflower Bean, Surfbort, Twin Peaks, music photographer Jackie Lee Young (who created a design using Pooneh’s photos from Form Festival 2018, a fest they attended together), and finally, a shirt and very important message from baby Pooneh herself.
