Bonjour! Christine and the Queens has shared the French language version of newie ‘La Marcheuse’
It translates as ‘The Walker’.
Bonjour DIY readers! And a fine Friday morning it is as Christine and the Queens has shared the tres bien French language version of new track ‘La Marcheuse’.
Translated as ‘The Walker’, the track will feature on the French version of forthcoming album ‘Chris’ while its English counterpart will grace the international release.
Whether you parlez francais or not, however, the track’s still a sultry, slow-burning corker. Over metronomic beats, it finds Chris darkly imploring “J’vais marcher très longtemps / Et je m’en vais trouver les poings qui redessinent / J’vais chercher éhontément / Les coups portés sur moi. La violence facile.”
Which translates as, “I’ll be walking for a long while / And I’m off to find those redesigning fists / I’m shamelessly looking / For the punches that were thrown at me. Easy violence.” Ooh er.
The track is the latest to come from the record - due September 21st - following the recent unveiling of ‘5 Dollars’.
The singer also recently opened up about her evolving name changes, stating that she “invented ‘Christine’ as a survival technique to deal with many things.” She continues: “I felt it would save me. Then people started to listen to the album, so I thought, ‘Am I going to be healed?’ But it doesn’t work like that. I am more armed, but still have the same sadness.”
