Mumford & Sons take on Shura’s ‘2Shy’ for BBC Radio 1

They made Maida Vale the Live Lounge for the afternoon.

For what seems like forever now, on visiting the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, bands have performed both their ‘new hit’ and a requisite cover version - whether it’s Fall Out Boy going ‘Uptown Funk’, Chvrches’ take on ‘Cry Me A River’ or Charli XCX shaking it off, Years & Years going all Haim on us, SOAK doing Bring Me The Horizon or even Jamie T doing his best Meghan Trainor.

It was the turn of current DIY cover stars Mumford & Sons today, as they opted for the plushier expanse of Maida Vale over the smaller Lounge itself for a six-song session.

They opted for Shura’s ‘2Shy’, with frontman Marcus Mumford admitting he wished they could’ve picked ‘Touch’ instead, calling it “one of the best songs ever written”.

Looks like Shura’s pretty happy with it. Watch their cover below.
